This update now allows developers to use GameKit when building games for Win64, macOS, iOS, and Android. Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced that AWS GameKit now supports iOS, macOS, and Andorid games developed with Unreal Engine.ĪWS GameKit launched on March 23, giving game developers a chance to build AWS powered game features from the Unreal Editor. Users might be able to forgive the lack of functions if the game prices are much lower than Steam’s offer.There’s some interesting news for game developers and gamers who play on Mac and mobile.
The fact that there are no review or comment functions is a pretty big deal, but it’s not necessarily a deal breaker. It remains to be seen if it will be just as agreeable to users. In addition, there’s an extra 5% cut for games using the Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, so developers using Unreal Engine will only actually get 65% of the game’s revenue. Using Steam, developers get 70% of the revenue for every game sold while Steam takes 30% as their cut. The game store was conceived as a challenger to Steam by offering developers a more advantageous deal when it comes to the revenue split for game profits. Background and PriceĮpic Game Store was developed and published by Epic Games, the developers of the massive phenomenon that is Fortnite among many other successful games. One noticeable difference from Steam is the lack of a user comment or review feature. At the bottom, users will find the minimum and recommended system requirements of the game.
